Web Development

"Through its activities and services, IML promotes UTS as a centre of best practice and innovation, and contributes to scholarship in interactive media, learning and teaching."

Are you thinking about developing a web site? The guidelines in this section have been designed to explain everything you need to know, from getting started, through to site testing, and delivery & maintenance of your new site. Along the way, you'll learn some of the common problems and pitfalls with developing content, understand the challenges of creative development, and become familiar with the issues you need to be aware of with the technical development of a successful website.

Perhaps you've come here to find out more about Site Manager, the web site content management system developed by IML and in use across the University.

Whether you're outsourcing web development to IML, or doing it yourself, we hope you'll find the results of our search for web development research & resources as useful as we do.

Most of the guidelines have been written in a question and answer format, so you can either go directly to the answer you're looking for, or you can read the sequence of questions and answers, and be led step-by-step through the process of developing a useful, useable and effective web site.
