Timelines

Development of a new course proposal (or a change to arrangements for an existing course) needs to commence early enough to allow adequate consideration by the various committees, timely publication of course information and for appropriate admissions processes. Deadlines vary according to whether the course is at undergraduate or postgraduate level, to be offered locally or overseas, for local or international students, etc. There will be other dates that are significant for faculty-specific purposes and in relation to offshore arrangements.

The 2012 award coursework course approval deadlines and 2012 award research course approval deadlines are provided to assist in the planning of:

  • a new course for commencement in Spring semester 2012
  • a new course for commencement in Autumn semester 2013
  • reaccreditation of a course due for reaccreditation in 2013
  • course changes approved at university level
  • external articulation arrangements.

  • 2012 award research course approval deadlines (PDF 50 kB, print on A4)

When a faculty requests a template for a new course proposal (or a change to arrangements for an existing course), the Academic Programs Office (APO) seeks a meeting with the faculty to discuss the proposal and determine the project timelines.

2012 courses committees meeting dates

Faculties can choose to submit proposals in advance of the deadlines set by the APO and should refer to the 2012 courses committees meeting dates (PDF 27 kB, print on A4) to ensure that they meet the submission deadlines for the various committees meetings.
