Change nomenclature
All UTS award courses must have an individual course name, award title and award abbreviation as approved by the Vice-Chancellor in accordance with UTS Rule 13.6.1, the Course Name and Award Title Nomenclature Policy and the Nomenclature of Award Courses Approval Procedures (PDF 41 kB).
The Academic Programs Office (APO) has compiled a list of current abbreviations in use for courses and subjects for reference.
Outlined in the flowchart below are the general steps required for changing nomenclature.

Requests for changes to an existing course name, award title and award abbreviation are submitted to the Vice-Chancellor for approval via the APO.
Once determined, the APO advises stakeholders of the Vice-Chancellor's decision and the approved changes are recorded in CASS and on the appropriate course file.
Change nomenclature template request
To change the nomenclature of an existing course or award, faculties must first complete the change nomenclature template.
