Discontinuation (and phasing out)
Discontinuing a subject normally involves the subject being phased out and then discontinued. In the phasing out period, students currently admitted to the subject can continue their studies. No new students are admitted to a phasing out subject. At the end of the phasing out period, the subject is discontinued.
To start the process of phasing out and discontinuing a subject, faculties must contact the APO via the UTS: Service Desk and request for the subject to be discontinued. APO: CASS will then set the subject to phase out and after 12 months will discontinue it.
Outlined below are the general steps required for subject discontinuation.
