Graduate attributes and the UTS Graduate Profile Framework

At UTS, each course has a course-specific graduate profile which reflects the mission of the university and relates to the particular professions and disciplines addressed by the course. The profile for a course is developed using the UTS graduate profile framework.

The graduate profile for a course reflects its overall educational aims, allowing current and prospective students, staff, employers and the community to gain an understanding of the intended professional, personal and intellectual attributes of graduates from the course.

Unlike some universities which describe a common set of attributes across all courses, the UTS graduate profile framework describes a very broad common profile and takes the view that specific attributes are best developed in relation to the professional and disciplinary contexts of each course. This enables Faculties to take responsibility for graduate profiles so that they describe the attributes which are most important for graduates from their professions and disciplines.
