Assignments, tests and surveys
In UTSOnline there are two types of Assignments areas you can add to your subject: a standard Assignment or a Turnitin Assignment. Assignments allow you to create an area where students will find information about each assignment in your subject and where they can then electronically submit their work. This section covers:
- Assignments - features of the standard Assignment and Turnitin Assignment to help you to decide which version is best for your subject.
- Standard assignments - step-by-step instructions on how to add a standard Assignment submissions area to your subject.
- Standard assignment - downloading - how to download student assignment submissions to your computer to review offline instead of reviewing them online in the Grade Centre.
- Standard assignment - grading - how to access submitted assignments, mark assignments and import results from a spreadsheet.
- Tests and surveys - instructors use tests and surveys to test student knowledge, measure student progress and gather information from students.
- Turnitin assignments - how to use Turnitin's online plagiarism detection software, one of the strategies UTS uses to discourage and detect plagiarism, and to encourage the development of academic literacies.
- Turnitin assignments - grading - how to edit and grade student assignments online and provide feedback and comments to students.
