CommentManager: An online system for commenting on students' work
CommentManager is the result of a collaborative project to improve the quality of constructive feedback across the Australian Technology Network universities. The project involved a team of people interested in improving feedback in their universities determining the barriers to the use of formative feedback in their different discipline areas.
The project resulted in the development of an online tool that provides a template for effective comments on students’ written work. This software has been designed to minimise academics’ workload in providing enhanced and timely feedback. The compiled feedback sheet can be printed or emailed to students. Statistical analyses of the comments enable identification of common misconceptions and help refine the usefulness of different kinds of comments.
