Case Study: Oral/Electronic Presentations

Bob Kane, Business (Management)

Peer rating form, Project checklist, Writing Literature Review/Case Study Guide, Minor Study feedback form. Flexible Delivery - Subject offered in 3 delivery modes:In Class, Distance, Topclass. All three modes do the same major assignment - Literature Review/Case Study - literature in topic areas (student defined) - students apply to work organisation in own context. Two minor assignments:

1. Mini case study or critical analysis

"For the mini case study they take one of the articles from the reading and apply that to a work organisation. The critical analysis is of another article related to the topics other than those provided in the readings."

2. A written version of the first minor assignment.

"That is, another article applied to a work organisation or related to another topic."

Peer Assessment

"The oral presentation is half assessed by their peers and half by myself - 10% each."

"Topclass students put their presentation on the Topclass site (although it's not live) and their fellow students send them comments and questions on their presentation. I assess them 10% for questions from the other students and 10% for their reply."

Integrated into the subject.

"The students have to read the articles in order to question the presenter."

Keep abreast of current workplace developments. Harder for students to plagiarise.
